Do you like to learn by doing? Do you need a bit of space outside your normal routine to slow down, meet some other humans, and make something? Want to make a mess but not have to clean it up?

Come join me to gather with friendly people, build something beautiful, and take a much needed breather.

We’ll blend teas, grind pigments, and mend jeans. Whatever the learning of the day, the goal is the same: slow down, make something, and leave rested and refilled. Every workshop includes something to take home.

No experience required, no pressure to be “artistic.” Just time set aside to put the phone down, work with your hands, connect with others, and try something new in a relaxed, welcoming space.

Also, please jump to Custom Events in the menu to learn more and book your own custom gathering such as staff retreats, birthdays, showers, milestone moments, board meetings, caregiver pauses, and other occasions that call for shared time, simple making, and a slower pace.

Offerings below are through June 2026. Booking a series or multiple sessions comes with a 20% discount.

Kokedama - June 30th
$45.00

This hands-on workshop introduces the basics of kokedama, a Japanese method of growing plants in moss-wrapped soil. We will go through how to prepare soil, position the plant roots, and bind each piece with natural twine (or colorful wire!) to create gorgeous living art.

We’ll chat, get dirt under our finger nails, and drink some tea. Everyone will leave with a finished kokedama (or several) and guidance for keeping it looking happy and healthy.

7-8:30pm. Address will be sent out the week of the workshop.

Print Making - June 22nd
$55.00

This hands-on workshop will teach you how to make simple but gorgeous hand-drawn prints from trash and pasta makers!

Come put down your phones and get a bit messy scratching, inking, and pressing ink to paper to make art on the postcards and paper provided. We’ll drink tea, experiment with our repurposed printing presses, and enjoy a creative break from our routines.

7-9:00 pm. Address to be emailed out the week of the workshop.

Lip Balm Making - June 9th
$55.00

This hands-on workshop invites you to take a break and have some chemistry fun. You’ll learn about nourishing herbs that can be infused into oils to make luscious lip balms using all natural ingredients. We’ll even pick some from my garden! Working side by side, we’ll explore basic recipes, melting and mixing oils and waxes, and adding subtle scents or colors.

Put your phone down, chat, munch on snacks, and make something you’ll use every day. Everyone will create several lip balms to take home, and you’ll have a straightforward recipe if you did want to tackle the mess at home.

7-9pm. Address will be sent out the week of the workshop.

Botanical Fabric Dyeing - June 4th
$65.00

In this hands-on workshop, we’ll use leaves, flowers, bark - and through heat and “fixers”, transfer the plant's pigment onto fabric. The results are unpredictable - it’s such a fun AH-HA moment when you unfurl your fabric bundle. Join me to transform plain cotton handkerchiefs into something natually glowing and unique.

Everyone will go home with newly colorful fabric pieces and introductory knowledge of the deep and wonderful world of botanical dyeing.

7-9:30pm. Address will be sent out via email the week of the class.

Note on Payment

This is a business. That said, I would like to make Fera House as inclusive as possible and do not wish the cost of workshops to be prohibitive. Please reach out to me at ContactFeraHouse@gmail.com or via the contact form on this website to let me know if this applies to you. If there are still spots available for a given workshop, I would love to offer you a discount. I’m also big on the idea of bartering - send me an email!
